In the Joint Declaration, issued at the end of the US/EU Summit in Brussels, the partners establish the strategic basis of their relationship. I would stress the importance accorded to climate change. The Parties commit to do their best to have a Protocol adopted in Paris next year. It is also interesting that they talk about mitigation rather than about adaptation. They announce the launch of World Trade Organization's negotiations on liberalisation of trade in environmental good, which according to them will be good for international trade as well as for dealing with climate change.
Climate change is also mentioned in paragraph 27 of the Joint Declaration when they refer to the post-2015 development agenda.
